It was with a great degree of disappointment that I received the news we weren't accepted for Saltbush. I can't remember the reasons given but I was very disheartened. It was hard not to wonder if we had done something to upset someone back in 2001. I think in reality it just came down to the taste of the organisers. They weren't looking for metal bands. I'm not sure if we looked a bit dubious with our long hair and metal shirts but whatever it was we didn't make the cut. Whatever the case, it was their event and they were perfectly entitled not to accept our application. I think I just wanted to feel like part of the scene and being overlooked two years in a row made me feel quite isolated. Looking back though, we had only played one gig since the 2001 Saltbush show, so we didn't really have much evidence that we could cut it.
