Solo songwriting sessions

At a certain point I felt like the band had completely collapsed. It was 2003 by now. I got the brainwave one day that eventually I'd put together a lineup, I just needed to find some people. To this end I committed to going to the church every Friday afternoon to rehearse, just me and my guitar. Because our songwriting had collapsed somewhat, I decided to write a few really simple songs to get things moving again. I figured I would learn the songs on guitar and vocals, then the drums and bass could fit in. I hadn't by any means given up on the band members, I still hoped they might get involved. The key was to get some material we could easily play and start rehearsing. At least it was a direction.
