Show went quite well

We had an early evening slot on an outdoor stage. This meant the light wasn't ideal for the pyrotechnics, but they were still pretty impressive. We made a nervous start, but a song or two we were playing well. The numbers at our gig weren't as strong as we hoped but it was by far and away the biggest audience we had ever played for. There was a group of people headbanging up the front and generally the response was positive. I gave out copies of the CD and we played the whole thing, along with other tracks. We had built ourselves up so much for the show that it seemed to end quickly. We felt like we were only getting warmed up when it was over. All these years later it remains one of my fondest music memories. I lost my voice towards the end but I still got through. I wasn't gig hardened in those days so it was no surprise. All in all it was a great time for the band.
