Recording fatigue

We were very inexperienced with the discipline required to record an album. I foolishly believed it would be as simple as plugging in, getting a good mix and then going for it. After 2 days of not so great recording, I was feeling downhearted. It seems silly in retrospect, but it is definitely how I felt at the time. I had a grand vision that we were good enough to just hit record and we'd have an album. In reality the mixes sounded rough and I wasn't confident about them. We didn't get vocals done during the weekend session, so Ben and I had to make plans for another session. We had the idea to record vocals at Bicton Uniting Church using the PA there. There was a Spanish Church that would hire the church hall on Sunday afternoon. They had a good PA and desk, so we asked if we could borrow their equipment.
