The time arrived for Grave Forsaken to open the gig. I'd be so busy setting up that I barely even had time to think about our gig. I was nervous that we wouldn't get numbers and the gig might be a flop. We had a very brief soundcheck and then about 15 minutes it was start time. Between the sound check and start of our set a good number of people had filed in. I could barely see the audience but we got a decent cheer when I introduced the band. My spirit lifted and I realised everythig was going to be OK. We played about 5 songs, all stuff from the first album if I recall correctly. We played really well and I could feel the excitement in the venue between each song. People were keen to see Mortification and I felt we were doing a good job warming up the crowd. The set flashed by in the blink of an eye and suddenly we were done. It was our best gig yet and the main event was about to come.
