A few days after Blackstump we set off to Melbourne. This involved a thoroughly epic road trip. We had hired a van plus we had a couple of Fearscape guys driving their cars. We had one day to make the trek from Wollongong to Melbourne. We probably underestimated the magnitude of the drive. By the time we had left Wollongong, then made various petrol, toilet and food stops it took forever. We didn't arrive at Steve Rowe's house in Melbourne until very late. Steve was ringing me for updates and no matter how much time had passed, we always seemed to be another hour or so away! Eventually we got there and Steve welcomed us. Steve and Kate Rowe are terrific people and we really appreciated their hospitality. We spent a lot of time over the next few days at Steve's house and it was a great time of fellowship for us all. But of course we still had a gig to play!
