Sometime between rehearsing with Chris, Matt and Luke and the actual gig, I realised I needed to tell Ben what we were doing. Although I thought he wouldn't be interested in playing, I didn't want him to find out on the grapevine, so I gave him a call. It's a long time ago, but I recall he seemed OK with the idea of us doing the gig without him. I was glad I had told him upfront.
