I couldn't help but get excited as we recorded "Destined For Ascension". It felt like an improvement over the previous album. We loved working with Dan and I think the songs were better on the whole. It was similar to the previous album but we had an extra year of experience. Material like "Horror And Sadness" and "Warriors Of Light" had an extra level of sophistication. It was also a much more structured recording. We had recorded "Beside The River Of Blood" in several different places, whilst this album was all done in the one place. It made a difference I think. We spent many months throughout 2007 recording the album. Often it would be a Friday night or a Sunday afternoon. It was always fun and I felt like I was living the dream.
