We got the idea for Sanctified Unplugged because our previous concert at the church had sound issues, particularly not being able to hear the vocals over the amps. The idea was to just play the songs with a clean tone and lighter drumming. So we were still plugged in, just not as loud as usual. We practised with this setup and found it very easy to hear ourselves. It obviously wasn't a permanent thing, but it was just an idea that we thought we would try. From memory, the gig was set for late January 1998.
