As I had mentioned, Chris and Ben had continued Sanctified with new drummer Alison. Ben had started to focus more on playing guitar and I ended up with the bass guitar he had previously used in the band. His plan was make Sanctified into a 4 piece band with a new bass player. Even though we were all friends again, I didn't have any serious thoughts to come back into the band. I was pretty intent on starting a new band at the time because I felt like I needed a new start. I can't actually recall the exact circumstances, but at some point during 2000 my return was discussed. I can't remember who initiated it but it probably just naturally arose during a general chat. I decided to give it a go and found myself back at rehearsal with Chris, Ben and Alison, this time as bassist. Ben was still handling vocals and it wasn't long before we were having some decent rehearsals. I was happy to be back with the band and it felt like it was the right path for me. All up I was probably out of the band for 9 or 10 months.
