The year 2000 was an exciting time for me. I had finished uni and I was working part time at a CD store until I found a chemistry job. I was really getting into the local Perth metal scene and I was enjoying learning the guitar. I decided I wasn't done with Christian metal so I started trying to work out how I could start a new band. I was keen to be the guitar player this time because I had started to realise that was where my true passion was. I figured it would be some time before I was good enough to get something going. In the meantime I wrote a song called "Heaven Waits". It was a simple song but it was the first I wrote as a guitar player, however rudimentary. It was a good feeling.
